The Pink Floyd Discovery Box Set

Pink Floyd`s remastered "Discovery" CD box set is the most anticipated rock music box set release since The Beatles remastered stereo & mono box sets from 2009.

This box set contains a number of 16 CDs. That`s all 14 of their studio albums from `67 through `94. The box set contains 16 discs instead of only 14 because two of their studio albums were double albums (Ummagumma and The Wall.

While many Pink Floyd fans already get all of their albums, what makes this new box set interesting is that it features newly remastered versions of apiece of these albums. They were remastered by a very respected producer by the name James Guthrie who was a co-producer for The Wall in 1979.

For classic rock fans who are not yet familiar with Pink Floyd`s entire back catalog this new box set is a neat way to "strike" it (hence the name. What best way to hear to Pink Floyd`s music for the 1st time than in such a perfect way with great digitally remastered sound? I would definitely recommend listening to these albums in chronological order so you can hear the ring`s unbelievable progression from their beginnings with the legendary Syd Barrett fronting the band to the post Roger Waters era in the eighties and `90s.

And of form there are those fans who live their most easily known albums such as The Dark Side of the Moon like the game of their hand but who have never fully delved into their early albums. I am personally a vast fan of Meddle, Animals, and The Piper at the Gates of Dawn. In fact I love all 3 of these albums more than The Wall in-spite of its big sales numbers.

In gain to the Discovery Studio Album Box Set, there are likewise three "Immersion" box sets coming out; one for apiece of their three most easily known albums; 1973′s The Dark Side of the Moon, 1975′s Wish You Were Here, and 1979′s The Wall. Each of these box sets contains from 5 to 7 discs focused on but that particular album! That may look like overkill to some, but these are really brilliant albums and really do merit that form of "immersion."

The Pink Floyd: Oh By The Way CD Box Set is the "old way" of acquiring all of the band`s albums in one go. It contains the previous CD versions of these studio albums.
