A Momentary Lapse of Reason isthe thirteenth studio album by English progressive rock group PinkFloyd.

The album was recorded primarily on Gilmour's convertedhouseboat, Astoria. Its production was pronounced by an ongoing legaldispute between Waters and the ring as to who owned the rights to PinkFloyd's name, which was not solved until several months after thealbum was released. Unlike most of Pink Floyd's studio albums, AMomentary Lapse of Ground has no central theme, and is instead acollection of rock songs written largely by Gilmour and musician AnthonyMoore. Although the album received mixed reviews and was derided byWaters, with the service of an enormously successful worldwide tour it easilyout-sold their previous album The Final Cut. A Momentary Lapse of Reasonis certified multi-platinum in the US.
